You’ll build real-world skills in patient care, medical documentation, coding and billing, and electronic health records through hands-on labs and immersive learning that mirror modern healthcare environments, while also preparing to sit for nationally recognized certification exams. Program schedules vary by campus, but students typically attend on-campus training two days per week, with morning, afternoon, or evening options available depending on location and cohort size. Campuses follow a Monday–Wednesday–Thursday schedule, with new cohorts typically starting every five weeks, so you can begin your training sooner.     How to apply to the MA Program

    • Submit proof of high school education or equivalentrn
    • Receive a score of at least 19 on the “Scholastic Level Exam – Q” (SLE-Q) to begin the application and ranking selection processrn
    • Submit a copy of a government-issued photo IDrn
    • Complete an interview with the program directorrn
    • Score a minimum of 58.7% on the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)rn
    • Complete a background check and drug screen before starting your clinicalrn

    MA Curriculum (29 Credits*)

    Brookline College’s Medical Assisting program delivers a balanced, career-focused education that blends engaging classroom instruction with hands-on learning, so you graduate prepared to perform with confidence. Led by experienced instructors who are deeply invested in your success, the program equips you with essential skills in patient interaction, medical office procedures, basic coding and billing, and electronic medical records, while also building your ability to assess patient needs and respond appropriately within your scope of practice.

    By the end of our program, you will complete 29 semester credits. Class topics include pharmacology, medication administration, diagnostic imaging, infection control, office management, medical law, and more.

In this essential role, Medical Assistants support healthcare teams by performing a blend of clinical and administrative duties, often serving as the first and last point of contact for patients. Responsibilities may include scheduling appointments, managing medical records, ordering supplies, billing, taking vital signs, and assisting with patient care. Medical Assistants work in a wide range of settings, including physicians’ offices, hospitals, laboratories, and retirement communities, making this a versatile and people-centered path into healthcare.
